BuildplansBot is the crawler that finds free build plans for FitMyPlans. It identifies itself as:
BuildplansBot/1.0 (+https://fitmyplans.com/bot)
What it fetches
- sitemaps and RSS feeds, to find plan pages
- plan pages
robots.txt
How it behaves
- It follows
robots.txt, including a group forBuildplansBotand anyCrawl-delay. - It waits at least 5 seconds between requests to the same site, longer if your Crawl-delay says so.
- It follows at most 5 redirects and checks
robots.txton each hop. - It never works around 401, 402 or 403 responses or bot challenges, and it stops crawling a site after repeated blocks.
- It rechecks links weekly.
- It matches build videos using the YouTube API.
What it stores
Page text is kept only temporarily to extract facts. We store those facts, a snippet of up to 300 characters and a thumbnail link. We do not store full page text.
Opt out
Add User-agent: BuildplansBot and Disallow: / to your robots.txt, or email contact@fitmyplans.com. Blocking BuildplansBot stops all future crawling of your site. To have plans already listed taken down, email contact@fitmyplans.com (or use the DMCA page) and we will remove them.
